1st time using a PURPLE hair mask || Luseta color brightening
Hello Foxies, welcome back to my blog!
Today we’re just going to dive into the world of purple. Some of my most frequently asked questions are about how to prevent yellowing of the hair, how to remove orange or brassy tones out of the hair (especially the dyed ends when you’re growing out your naturally silver hair), and how to prevent your silver hair from becoming dull or yellowish.
I am really excited about this whole series of purple products because it’s important for us to explore this and talk about what’s working and what’s not working.
As I was doing research on the good old internet about what are the best purple shampoos, I found some recommendations for great purple products which are cruelty free. I came across this one particular company and I thought to myself that I really need to try that —they look like really great products.

I’m very excited to get started. I have not open these products; I’ve been waiting to do this with you!
This is a box set by Luseta. They specialize in shampoos and conditioners. This one is called “Star Light Star Bright.” It is the color brightening series, and it’s all purple. In the box we have a shampoo, a conditioner, a hair mask, and a perfecting spray. The spray is an oil spray and it is a UV protectant. I think it’s also supposed to be a brightening product. We’re going to try out all of these today.
Since I have never used a hair mask before, I wasn’t quite sure how to use this. As I read more about this product, what they intend for you to do is to first shampoo your hair. Then you would use the hair mask and leave it in from 5 minutes to a half an hour—it depends on how much toning you want to do on your hair. Then you use the conditioner. The perfecting spray is for when you are styling your hair. The perfecting spray is made out of quinoa oil.
I’m going to first shampoo my hair and I’m gonna take you to the bathroom to wash my hair.

So Foxies, we’ve used all four products. We have dried and straightened our hair. And it feels super soft. I think this is mostly due to the mask; right after I used the mask, my hair had a new texture to it. It is ultra soft, and I do notice a brightening. My hair color seems to be a little bit cooler in its tone.
It didn’t turn my hair purple—that was one thing I was worried about.
I’m not sure which one of the products is most responsible for the toning and brightening of the hair. My guess is that the shampoo is most responsible, because it was the darkest in color, but I really don’t know. To get the results that I did today you would probably want to use all of the products that I used as well.
As far as the smell of this product goes, it smells amazing! There is a perfume scent to it. It smells sweet and a little bit spicy. It kind of reminds me of a spicy flowering bush like Jasmine. It smells a little bit like a cologne, but it’s very pleasant—in fact it’s very delicious smelling.
I really hope you enjoyed this review. Thank you so much for reading!
