I haven't used PURPLE shampoo in years! dpHUE Cool Blonde
Hello Foxies! Welcome back to my blog!
Today we are going to talk about purple shampoo. One of the most frequent questions that I get asked is
“How do I tone down brassiness when growing out your faded dyed hair?”
“How do I maintain my silver hair so that it looks bright and shiny?”
Now, I tried out a couple of purple shampoos a couple of YEARS ago, and I was kind of disappointed with the results. Not that it didn’t brighten my hair, it just made my hair feel really dry, and I wanted to discontinue its use. They weren’t very high-end products, and maybe that’s why!
So, today we are going to try out a brand called dpHUE.
where to purchase these products
Since this is something that is highly requested in Silver Foxy, I know that I need to just dive into the world of purple shampoo! I know that there’s great ones out there, I just haven’t discovered them yet!
Maybe I’ll just show you the bottles and then I’m going to wash my hair.
I have their shampoo called “Cool Blonde Shampoo.” Purple is supposed to neutralize the yellows in your hair. So whether you have blonde hair and want it to be a cooler blonde, or whether you have dyed hair that is a little bit darker or orange-y, this should help it.
Even before I straighten my hair, I want to say this about it—my hair feel extremely soft even before straightening. Usually straightening my hair is what makes it feel soft. After shampooing and conditioning, it usually feels a little bit soft, but not THIS GOOD!
“I’ll tell you right now that this stuff is THE BEST purple shampoo I have ever used before!”
SUMMARY
This shampoo doesn’t have much of a scent
I love that because the few products that I had used before had smelled NASTY. They smelled like chemicals, they were strong. I couldn’t get the smell out of my hair even after I washed it with regular shampoo. And this . . . (*sniffs) smells . . . nice. It smells clean without smelling like chemicals. It doesn’t have a perfume-y smell; it doesn’t have a sweet smell. It just smells neutral/clean.
My hair feels amazingly soft
It is softer than when I shampoo and condition my hair with regular products. It makes my hair a little extra silky. In result, I used a little less oil spray heat protectant and little less heat with my straightening iron. It was soft and straight — just outta the gate!
It brightening my hair quite a lot
To be honest, I didn’t leave the shampoo in very long. It says on the back of the bottle that you can leave on up until 5 minutes. I left it on for only 1 or 2 minutes. I was honestly a little scared that it would turn my hair purple — which it didn’t! It did brighten my hair quite a lot. I feel like my grays are a little cleaner and brighter, and definitely less yellow-looking.
I am impressed with the quality
They didn’t use the gimmicky “turn your hair purple.” It made the whites legitimately whiter. It made my hair softer — look how shiny it is! The main reason I had stopped using the other purple shampoos that I was using was that they dried out my hair, they made my hair feel brittle, my hair was frizzy, and it had a slight purplish tone. This has done NONE of that. My hair is super silky.
I hope you enjoyed my review of the dpHUE Cool Blonde Purple Shampoo.
