Date Night for a Silver-Haired Lady
There are several minor holidays that I love. One of them happens to be Valentine’s Day.
I have created two videos this year in honor of Valentine’s Day.
The first video focuses on makeup which is simple and sexy.
This look was so easy to achieve. To “look professional,” I used a brush to apply this cream shadow. However, it’s very easy to apply this shadow with your fingers. I used the “Petal to the Metal” palette by The Balm Cosmetics.
Before I began this tutorial, I didn’t imagine it would create such a dynamic look. I rather expected it to look minimal and not have a wow factor. I think I proved myself wrong.
I applied a little bit of an Urban Decay glitter eyeliner in the shade “Disco Daydream” to the center of my lower lashes.
This lipstick was a recent gift from a fellow YouTuber and it paired perfectly with this minimal eyeshadow look. The shade of Urban Decay lipstick is called “En Fuego.”
The second video is all about creating a large and bouncy hairstyle that is cute and flirty.
What do I do to achieve this look? First, I need to section my hair. I divide it into a top/crown section and two side sections at the top of the ears. The bottom section hangs loose, and I start on that one first. I am using a hair straightener, but you could easily use a curling iron or wand. I smooth out a piece of hair thin enough to fit within one ironing pass. After clamping down, I first start by rolling the hair backwards to create a curl that flips toward the back. My next piece of hair, I will curl toward my face. I alternate directions with each pass of the iron. This helps to create volume as the curls will oppose each other and not form one large curl in the same direction. After curling the bottom, sides, and crown, I also twist my bangs around the iron in different directions. When I’m done, I let my hair cool for several minutes. In this video, I actually went outdoors in 25ºF weather and chilled my curls for a minute. I then went inside and shook out my hair creating VOLUME!
A couple of years ago, there was a brief trend on YouTube for an “Anti-Valentine’s Day.” I love this idea. I decided to create a video with two separate and opposite looks for Valentine’s Day, one that is pink and cute and other other a dark red and vampy.
